ECPAT Philippines strongly condemns the assault on children’s dignity and right to live freely and protected from all forms of sexual violence manifested in the Socorro Bayanihan Services, Inc. case in Surigao del Norte.
As more evidence of trafficking, forced marriage, sexual abuse, deprivation of education rights, among others surface, ECPAT Philippines joins other child rights advocates and organizations in calling for a concerted action to leave no stone unturned in unraveling this vicious and systematic attack on children’s rights and bringing restoration and justice to all who have suffered this crime.
We believe in the rule of law and stand by our children in these difficult times. We must remain united in continuing to collaborate with duty bearers and other stakeholders in upholding the rights of all children wherever they are.
Let us remain united in bringing an end to the continuing violation of children’s inherent rights to live a life free from all forms of violence!
